KINGS OF PERSIS. Autophradates (Vadfradad) II, early-mid 2nd century BC. Drachm (Silver, 17 mm, 4.00 g, 2 h), Istakhr (Persepolis). Bearded head of Autophradates II to right, wearing diadem and kyrbasia topped by an eagle with spread wings. Rev. Fire-altar of Ahura-Mazda; above, half-figure of Ahura-Mazda; to left, King standing right, his hands raised in adoration; to right, eagle standing left on standard. Alram 547. Klose & Müseler 3/2. Sunrise 576. Van't Haaff 547e (this coin). Beautifully toned. Tiny marks on the obverse, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
